About this Course
There are so many things that make our lives so much heavier and more stressful and more painful than life ever has to be...than life was ever MEANT to be. We hold on to things that were never meant to be held on to.
As human beings, we have the choice to hold on or to let go of our experiences, our thoughts, our habits. In nature, we see that plants and animals naturally let go at different seasons...the way a tree loses it’s leaves and then grows new ones that turn colors and then fall away again year after year. The tree does not have a choice about this matter....the tree lets it go when it is time to let it go.
We can learn a lot from seasons in nature. Every season has its lessons and its experiences. Every season also has its own beauty and its own purpose. Every season is necessary to get us onward to becoming what we are meant to become next. Yet, we have such difficulty letting go of things that were meant long ago to be let go of...so that we can move on to the next parts of our lives...so that we can move forward.
Think of the things you may be holding onto that are keeping you from moving forward. Things like grudges, or outdated goals or dreams. Let go of hurt that comes from things not turning out the way you may have wished they would turn out. Let go of what you might expect to happen that you have no control over. Let go of fantasies you may have that are keeping you from being happy with how your life is now. Let go of anything that doesn’t feel peaceful. Let go of what is not yours to carry.
It is also so important to give life a chance to work itself out....because often we can push and push and push for things to turn out the way WE want them to turn out, when life is going to happen exactly the way it is meant to happen. This is when we let it be.
Sometimes we even have to let things fall that we wanted to stay put. We have to let things die that we wanted to stay alive. When we let life be, and find joy in all of it....our suffering will decrease and our joy will increase. Time to let it go.
It really is time.
About the instructor
I love being part of Brave Girls Club and sitting in this big worldwide circle of sisterhood....it has changed my life in all of the best ways. I am profoundly grateful for all of it, and I work hard to never take it for granted.
I'm an artist, teacher and entrepreneur. I have started and owned a few different companies and written many books. I have sold and licensed my art all around the world, which is what I had dreamed of doing since I was a little girl. In 2004, my husband sustained a traumatic brain injury which changed the direction of our lives dramatically and led me to my TRUE life's work.
Taking care of my husband and holding my family together while my business and the rest of my life fell apart all around me left me feeling broken in every way. I used art and journaling to heal the fragmented parts of my soul, and once I felt healed I wanted nothing more than to share what I had learned and how I had healed with my sisters all over the world. That's where Brave Girls Club came from...my curriculum is what I have used to heal myself and make my life joyful again.
I live in Star, Idaho where my husband and I have raised our 5 children. My husband made a miraculous full recovery which we consider a tremendous miracle that has prompted us to spend our life helping others out of the kinds of dark times we were in for so long. Our greatest treasure in life is our family, ...especially the grandchildren who have come to us! We plan to spend the rest of our lives doing more of what we are doing now....enjoying life, helping where we can, creating beauty, and spending as much time as possible with our beloveds...at home and all over the world. We appreciate every new day we are gifted with, and life is beautiful! So happy to be here with all of you!
