About this Course
Let me start by saying thank you for choosing my lessons! And I want you to know that this class is a work in progress and more will be coming as I complete the lessons to share with you. Please check back regularly for more additions.
My goal is to provide classes that anyone can do, no matter what level you are at and to eliminate the notion that "I can't do art" or "I am not creative". Yes, you CAN, yes, you are creative! Just watch, we are going to make some beautiful meaningful soulful things together! I will try to have each lesson very simple with easy to find and inexpensive supplies that someone who is just exploring can be comfortable with, but also there are no limits here and it's wide open to your imagination to take it to the next level! Feel free to use any other supplies and tools that you may have on hand, if you are a more advanced and experienced creative soul. There is no wrong way here.
The theme of these first few lessons are based on the feather. To me it is a symbol of many things: freedom, comfort, protection, strength, lightness when things get heavy in life. I like to wear my feather cuff to remind myself that I am all of these things and also not in this alone. We will learn more about feathers, the symbolism, the structure and how to use them in our art. In the meantime, feel free to collect them, watch for them, notice them, learn about them. We will also focus on the power of words, and choose positive inspiring ones of your choice to incorporate into your projects in different ways, so gather up your favorite poems, quotes, bible verse, song lyrics, etc that you may like to use. Samples will also be provided for you to use.
Here are some of the cool things coming your way, bit by bit, but here's the plan:
We are going to make leather cuffs with a feather motif and a personalized message using a wood burner, a dream messenger with vintage and upcycled objects and polymer clay word charms, and some water color/ink artwork with inspirational quotes. This is only the beginning.
I am doing my best to get these classes on here as I complete them. Check back often and we will learn and explore together! In the meantime, do what you like, and most of all, have fun, PLAY, be LIGHT!
