About this Course
Each of these talks took place at the 2017 edition of our annual convention, Brave Girl Symposium. This year, our theme was "Love Fixes Things," and each of the speakers shared their unique wisdom surrounding that idea... that love can restore, love can strengthen, love can make miracles. Every one of us left the event full of the most diverse and beautiful lessons from these outstanding women... and now, it's time to share it with all of you!
Set aside a little time for yourself, grab a tasty beverage, and enjoy these talks... we sure did.
About the instructor
I love teaching art, photography, jewelry-making and repurposing, all with a meaningful dose of getting in touch with your soul. I know the deep healing power of soul work and I love to hold space and teach ways of getting in touch with our souls' purpose.
I believe that each of us has a deep well of creativity. Some of us have tapped into it and some of us have only just skimmed the surface up to now, yet I know it resides in each of us. My hope is that through the classes I create here at BGU, students will see it is not a mysterious process to follow your own creative muse! All of us here, we teach the tools for you to realize your own vision. And the soul soothing and healing and joy that follows as you create is all yours.
I crave meaning and authenticity and deep connection. I am an unrepentant optimist and I try to live each day as the incredible gift that it is. It is a challenge to focus on what is right in this world when we are bombarded by the media, our neighbors and our own self-talk with all that is wrong. But I know it can be done, with practice and within a loving sharing community. I hope that my courses will help everyone who ventures into them to dwell in the light and the bright side of life.
She speaks and teaches all around the country and sometimes she even gets to cross the pond. She was told that she needed to find that one thing but she doesn’t like listening to directions so she embraces many loves and that has given her a sweet mash up of family, art, decorating and fashion. Connecting with women and sharing that each of us has been creatively made is one of her passions. The Lord is showing her each day to trust in Him.
She also has created an online creative network with gorgeous online art and lifestyle classes. She wanted to create something that would not only hold online courses but would also allow the members to connect with one another. You will find free technique videos, free creative series and even paid for courses. She would love for you to visit and hopefully stay awhile!
I am an intuition girl. Always have been, always will. I am very "sensitive" to energy. When I was young, I just knew stuff and I saw energy which was a bit much when I did not know what it was or know how to use it.
In my young adult years I got to a point of feeling "different", "too sensitive", like I had gone "mad", I mean really who has dreams that come true or knows when there's a cop around the corner waiting to give your speeding mom a ticket? Mad I tell you! So of course, the way this amazing universe works, I found the right people at the right time where my soul journey began.
I learned I was not "mad" I was gifted. Wheew. I learned tools to help me use this gift of intuition to see a different perspective, to see life and people as spirit, energy and good 'ol vibes.
I believe in paying it forward, and I am on a mission to do so tenfold, supporting as many people as I can on their soul journey. I am ridiculously interested in your happiness and that you are living a life you love, one where your physical reality mirrors your heart's desires. I am passionate about teaching and holding a space for each to connect inward, learn to trust their intuition and find their own answers to create a life they love.
I met with clients one on one, offering Intuitive Readings, Intuitive Development Mentorship, and Soul Life Coaching. I also offer workshops, classes and retreats in person and online teaching tools to develop intuition using meditation, journaling and soul-full dialog.
You can read my soul perspective articles on Huffington Post, listen to podcast interviews and attend speaking engagements throughout the year, as well as take online courses at Brave Girl University and on this website.
Life changing good stuff.
As a grown-up, she attended college at Florida State University, where she decided to major in something “practical” — social work. In 1999, she met her husband John & they set off to begin a new life together in Portland. Kelly’s heart kept tugging & pulling her towards something big, brave & new. And one day, Kelly decided to put paint onto paper & pursue a thoroughly “impractical” dream: to become an artist.
3 short years passed. Kelly’s heart exploded with renewed passion & joy, and her artwork spread like wildfire, reaching thousands of fans — and pulling in millions of dollars in licensed artwork sales. She’s the bestselling author of Taking Flight: Inspiration & Techniques to Give Your Creative Spirit Wings , author of the popular e-book series Flying Lessons: Tips & Tricks To Help Your Creative Business Soar, and the creator of a well-loved online painting e-courses.
Kelly’s tender style of truth-telling and possibility-driven approach to life, work, & art has been featured in many books, and in countless magazines, including Spirituality + Health, Where Women Create, Somerset Studios, Cloth Paper Scissors, and more. Her artwork can be found worldwide on all kinds of uplifting home decor, gift, and stationery products. Her significant online presence is a source of inspiration and truthful stories that celebrates the collective journey of our messy, complicated, yet deeply beautiful lives.
She genuinely believes that anything is possible, if you take one baby step of bravery after another.
I love cooking but I'm not crazy about grocery shopping or doing dishes (sigh). I've live in Idaho less than 5 miles from where I was born, I've been married for 34 years, I am mother to 8 and Nana to 14. And every day I have the fun job of managing the business side of Brave Girls Club. That's me!
I love being part of Brave Girls Club and sitting in this big worldwide circle of sisterhood....it has changed my life in all of the best ways. I am profoundly grateful for all of it, and I work hard to never take it for granted.
I'm an artist, teacher and entrepreneur. I have started and owned a few different companies and written many books. I have sold and licensed my art all around the world, which is what I had dreamed of doing since I was a little girl. In 2004, my husband sustained a traumatic brain injury which changed the direction of our lives dramatically and led me to my TRUE life's work.
Taking care of my husband and holding my family together while my business and the rest of my life fell apart all around me left me feeling broken in every way. I used art and journaling to heal the fragmented parts of my soul, and once I felt healed I wanted nothing more than to share what I had learned and how I had healed with my sisters all over the world. That's where Brave Girls Club came from...my curriculum is what I have used to heal myself and make my life joyful again.
I live in Star, Idaho where my husband and I have raised our 5 children. My husband made a miraculous full recovery which we consider a tremendous miracle that has prompted us to spend our life helping others out of the kinds of dark times we were in for so long. Our greatest treasure in life is our family, ...especially the grandchildren who have come to us! We plan to spend the rest of our lives doing more of what we are doing now....enjoying life, helping where we can, creating beauty, and spending as much time as possible with our beloveds...at home and all over the world. We appreciate every new day we are gifted with, and life is beautiful! So happy to be here with all of you!
