Okay, friends…here’s what we LOVE about these art journals…. Not only are the covers made of heavy chipboard, but EVERY PAGE is made of the same ultra-thick chipboard. If you’ve ever glued journal or sketchbook pages together to make them sturdy enough for a multi-layered collage, you know why we have dreamed of an entire art journal that’s ready to go with pages that are just begging for layers and layers of paint, fabric, trims, and more. No warping or curling. We’ve also made them in standard frame-able sizes…for those special pages that you want to frame and display.
We’ve even bound them with an over-sized spiral coil to make room for thick collaged pages. No more art journals with their ‘mouths’ wide open! Even with layers and layers of collage going on, these journals close properly.
In this photo, Melody shows us a quick example using the 8″ x 10.5″ chipboard art journal. She started with a fast coat of gesso, and then the page was ready for paint, fabric, texture mediums, and layering.
We’ve made them in 5 sizes: a luxuriously large 10″ x 10″ size, 8″ x 10″ or 10″ x 8″ (landscape or portrait), 5″ x 7″, and chunky little 3″ x 4″ size. (Each art journal has an extra 1/2″ added to these dimensions on the binding edge).
