Hello, I am Amira
I am primarily a wife and a mother of two lovely (well, most of the time) teenagers.
Professionally, I hold a master degree in Pharmaceutics and a PhD in Natural Health.
I used to teach at the faculty of pharmacy. A leave I took after the birth of my first child gave me time to study nutrition, then natural health & spirituality.
After years of being blindfolded to follow the path that everybody thought was 'the right thing for me', I finally found my true Path, my true passion and heart desire.
I published four books. My books have been translated into more than ten languages and read and taught by thousands around the globe. I am a faculty member at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition in Toronto and I practice natural health private consultation at Alexandria Medical Clinic in Mississauga.
My mission is to inspire women to reclaim their health, happiness and success, and to live with passion and purpose by teaching them to listen to their ‘Body Whispers’…
Body Whispers are those subtle messages our body sends us to warn us that something needs to change in our life... something is not quite working in our home, our relationships, or our career… If we ignore those whispers, they get louder and louder turning into shouts and screams recognized by conventional medicine and now needing medical intervention and prescription medications.
My passion is helping women listen to those whispers, decode their meanings and give their body, heart and soul what they need in order to heal.
ART for me one main therapeutic tool that helps you listen to those whispers. Art heals life stresses, worries, woes, aches and pains. Art therapists teach that the word ART stands for: Access, Release, & Transform. And, this is exactly what it does for me and for all the women I teach. Colors, shapes, pictures, symbols, chosen ephemera, collaged bits and pieces, fabric scraps, and charms… all have meaning, a deep meaning hidden in every selection, in every choice you make, in every decision that alters the shape of your canvas as it alters the shape of your life. These selections are your mean to access your heart feelings, your insights, ideas, and creative thoughts, as well as your hidden hopes and fears. Your canvas, your journal or any other medium you choose to express your art on, is your way of releasing. Releasing negative thoughts and beliefs, releasing erroneous perceptions and hurtful feelings that no longer serve you at this point of your journey. And, as your piece of art develops, as it takes shape and form, you gently, yet powerfully, start the transformation journey. You experience your anger melting into acceptance and forgiveness; your frustration converted into peace and wisdom; your challenges transmuted into lessons and tools for growth; and your pains shaped into a mold of gratitude and insights…
