At 16 years old, Kêta and her family, moved from rural Indiana, to Los Angeles for her to continue the pursuit of a career in the music industry. Within the first 3 months, she was signed to artist management firm, 1916 Management, Capitol Records, CAA ( Creative Artists Agency ) and Sony/ATV. To have been given any one of those opportunities at any age, would have been a huge accomplishment. Her perseverance and determination to overcome her chronic illness and disease, paved the way for her to travel some very unique roads of success at a very young age.
Despite her novice status as a songwriter, Kêta achieved a singular sound and sensibility right from the start. A key factor in Kêta setting herself apart as a singer and songwriter: the intensely inspiring mix of honesty and optimism that informs all of the songs on her debut.
“My music is driven from things I’ve personally gone through. My goal is always to recognize the negative to bring out the positive, because I believe that life is what you make it."
Kêta, now 17 years old, continues her pursuit of connecting with people in a positive way, through music, as well as various creative avenues such as fashion, makeup and beauty, arts and crafts, blogging and philanthropy.
Her work as Spokesperson for the LymeLight Foundation, a member of The Grammy Recording Academy and an Ambassador for AMTC ( Actors, Models and Talent for Christ ), also keep Kêta's focus on giving back to the communities that she has been blessed by.
This is her heart. To touch, to inspire, to serve.
Her work here, within the Brave Girls Community will serve as a very unique way for her to get personal with others and continue to branch out to reach a broader audience with a smile, a story, or project.
