Hello, Brave Girl.
I’m Michelle and I live in Virginia with my two (homeschooled) kids, my husband, and one very cute pup. I write about and make photographs of what inspires me. Which means I write about and make photographs of life. All of it. The pretty, the not so pretty, the in-between. You could say my writing and photography are forms of meditation. Because they are. They slow me down, zero me in, expand me out.
While I enjoy creative pursuits other than writing and photography (such as baking, hand-stitching patches on my jeans, parenting a teen and a pre-teen), writing and photography are my go-to’s. They are my passions, my lifelines.
I don’t write every single day and I don’t make photographs every single day. But almost every day. Writing and photography are my practice, they are my work, they are my love language. I believe in the power of creating (in any medium, and for every person), I believe in living with intention, I believe in doing the doing.
I’ve had the pleasure of having my work published in magazines like Bella Grace, Mabel, and Kindred. I’ve had the pleasure of working with hundreds of (amazing) women in my online classes, 28 Moments and Just Five Things, as well as in my free online workshops. I’ve also had the pleasure of offering one-on-one photography mentorships. It’s an incredible feeling to love what I do and to have opportunities like these to share that love while growing community. Because that’s where it’s at, in my opinion. Love. And community.
I’m so pleased to be a part of Brave Girl University. So pleased for the chance to guide you in a little creative play alongside all the creatives here. So pleased to share in this experience with you.
Are you ready???
