I truly believe that the need to be witnessed by the self and by others is a human-core-need to be fulfilled by the act of creating. Therefore, a compelling part of my journey is the teaching of expressive processes in the context of visual journaling, both in the US and abroad. As a young adult I studied Fine Arts in an artists’ village in my native country Israel, and later Graphic Design at the University of Arts in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Now living in Southern California, I take in all the magnificence of the landscapes that shaped me and of the visual languages I have acquired along the way.
I am the author and the independent publisher of three books exploring the multiple meanings of visual journaling as understood through my intimate pages. I am also the starter of the lively FB group A Stand For Art Journaling, offering a gathering place for many impassioned individuals to experience this unique art form and an honest spirit of collaboration. In the end, for me, it’s all about making sense of my personal world and in the same time making connections to vaster worlds residing outside of me, all through the creative process.
