Ciao! I am an artist, military daughter wife and mother currently residing in Pisa, Italy. My husband and I live here with our toddler granddaughter. I love making treasures with our toddler, and creating pretty things for our home (especially her princess room!) and lives –wherever the military takes us!
It is so exciting to be back in the teaching saddle again. I took a break for a few years to heal and become Brave again (thank you Brave Girl’s Club and Soul Restoration!). For many years I have demonstrated taught, designed and worked within the Crafting and Hobby Industry. From one-on-one sewing lessons in my home to at capacity full classrooms taking place during International Craft and Hobby Trade Shows, you name it and I have taught it!
Part of what I enjoy most about “my craft”, is taking something we would normally throw away and turning it into something beautiful and useful. Some people call it upcycling. I call it Shabby Bling! That is my “branding” if you will, Shabby Bling Studio. The whole premise behind Shabby Bling is taking a low end budget, item, add some crafting/art supplies and then turn it into something dazzling and amazing!
Being a single mother for so long, and then a Military wife, I have learned a thing or two about saving pennies, making something ugly and discarded by the roadside into a sparkling princess castle or creating a gourmet meal out of dented cans and the cheapest meat I could find. Just because we have to watch the bottom line of our bank balance like a miser, our lives and homes don’t have to look like we live like that.
Don’t worry, my classes aren’t always about “arting on the cheap” You will find all types of skill levels, budget range and project types in my classes. But one thing is for sure, no matter what, my classes are soulful, and lovingly crafted to feed your heart too!
